High Probability of Moon Sighting on October 23
Based on astronomical data and visibility conditions, the commission stated that there are very strong chances of sighting the new moon on the evening of October 23, provided the weather remains clear.
If the crescent is sighted as expected, the first day of Jamadi-ul-Awwal, 1447 AH, will likely begin on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Make Final Decision
SUPARCO clarified that while its forecast is based on scientific observations, the official announcement regarding the start of the new Islamic month will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan. The committee will confirm the moon sighting after reviewing authentic witness reports from across the country.
